Privacy Policy of Clip Cloud
Clip Cloud is an independent service (including Mobile Applications and Desktop Extensions) developed by Catching Now (Ruoxin He) to facilitate clipboard synchronization across devices.
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.
1. Information Collection and Use
To provide a seamless synchronization experience, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:
- Email Address: Used as your unique User ID to identify your account and link your devices.
- Device Information: We collect device identifiers (such as model and OS version) to distinguish between your different devices for routing clipboard messages.
The information we collect is used solely for identifying users, authenticating devices, and providing the synchronization service.
2. Zero-Knowledge Clipboard Handling
Important: We DO NOT store your clipboard history on our servers.
When you copy text, the data is encrypted and transmitted immediately via secure cloud messaging services (Google FCM) to your other devices. Our servers act strictly as a bridge for transmission. Once the message is delivered, no copy is retained on our infrastructure.
3. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect it:
- Encryption: All data transmissions are encrypted using the AES algorithm and transmitted over secure HTTPS channels.
- Access Control: Your clipboard data is accessible only by your authenticated devices.
4. Third-Party Services
We may employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention and Deletion
Account Deletion: We respect your right to be forgotten. Although our servers do not store your private clipboard content, we do maintain your account metadata (Email and Device IDs).
If you wish to delete your account and all associated metadata, you can:
- Clear your local data within the App settings.
- Send a deletion request to delete_account_clipcloud@catchingnow.com. We will process your request immediately and permanently remove your account information from our authentication system.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
